BASSETERRE (Friday 30th October 2020) — The St. Kitts-Nevis Trades & Labour Union successfully hosted its 81st Annual Conference on Sunday 25th October under the theme “Inspiring Trade Union Growth in the New Normal.” President Sydney Bridgewater reported that the Union has been busy assisting workers with severance pay calculations, layoff concerns, and other COVID-19-related labour matters. He noted that many non-members, inspired by the Union’s effective handling of grievances, have now joined the organisation. Fraternal greetings were delivered by SKNLP Political Leader Dr. Denzil Douglas, while Labour Commissioner Shernel James brought remarks from the Ministry of Labour and Dr. Joyelle Clarke served as guest speaker.
