Some Ongoing Concerns Of Our People

A mere three days before the planned grand opening of the country’s borders on 31st October, four air services announced they had cancelled all flights for November — a major setback for everyone. Did our government have a contingency plan for such eventualities? Knowing them as we do, we seriously doubt that. We also call on government to investigate reports of bread becoming mouldy in very short spaces of time — where a purchase once lasted a full week without refrigeration, green and yellow mould is now appearing rapidly on flour-based baked products. Another burning issue is the number of cases involving electrical and electronic equipment that works for only short periods before going bad. Some American suppliers are notorious for the trade practice known as ‘dumping’ — goods which they can never sell to consumers in their own country are shipped to countries such as ours. The good people of St. Kitts and Nevis are fully entitled to proper government attention on all of these matters.
