      Historic Full Attendance Marks 50th CARICOM Heads Meeting in Saint Kitts and Nevis

      History was made last evening, February 24th, at the Opening Ceremony of the 50th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), as all leaders of the full Member States gathered in one place, the first time in over a decade that such full attendance has been recorded.

      This evening, Monday May 24, 2021, I wish to update you on the present COVID-19 situation. Within the last twenty-four hours we have recorded six (6) additional cases, all from the same household. These six new cases are referred to as Case # 55 through to Case # 60.

      To date, there are nine active cases out of the recorded 54.

      Contact Tracing Confirms 3 Additional COVID-19 Cases

      Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris in an address to the nation on Friday 21st May 2021, revealed that three additional COVID-19 cases here in the Federation of St.Kitts and Nevis, bringing a total of 49 recorded cases with four being active to date.

      CMO: Negative Results In Contact Tracing For Some Individuals Involving Latest Case

      Contacts of the latest COVID-19 case in the federation have reportedly been reaching out to the health officials, and those who practice health measures have gotten negative results so far involving the only active case thus far of the 46 recorded in total here in St.Kitts-Nevis.

      Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hazel Laws says the current supply of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine available in St.Kitts-Nevis has to be used by June 2021.       St.Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris has labelled “fake news” a 43-page document circulating via social media addressed to him from the International Tribunal related to an order to “cease and desist” COVID vaccinations, dated 18th March 2021.
