Curfew Among 10 Measures As COVID-19 Cases Increase In SKN

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Tuesday 25th May 2021) — A curfew from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. daily, starting 25th May 2021, has been accepted by Cabinet as one of ten recommendations from health professionals to contain an expanding COVID-19 cluster. As of 24th May, St. Kitts-Nevis recorded 15 active cases following six additional cases identified through contact tracing. PM Harris announced the measures at a national address. The full list of measures: (1) Nightly curfew, 11 p.m.–5 a.m. for 14 days; (2) Public transportation reduced to 50% capacity; (3) Strict adherence to mask-wearing, sanitizing, and physical distancing; (4) All contact sports suspended for two weeks; (5) Schools closed for two weeks; (6) No mass events; (7) Funerals to adhere to COVID-19 protocols; (8) Surveillance and extended contact tracing; (9) Effective 29 May 2021, only fully vaccinated travellers allowed entry — with exemptions for citizens and residents; (10) Extended vaccine clinic hours, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in St. Kitts Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Nevis, and 9 a.m.–4 p.m. on Saturdays.
