Can The Material With Which Our P.M. Is Made, Bring Progress To Our Federation?

You see, dear reader, we have been reduced to a state where our country has been reduced to a State where everything goes. Did we not expect to witness the deterioration in the relationship between the Police and the public when our leader, bloated with the success of his backstabbing activities, unthinkingly poured out his hatred for Dr. Douglas thereby ripping the clothing of impartiality off them and dressing them in apparels of partisan politics, when he declared at his inaugural speech to them, “We got rid of the man?” Was there some form of collusion between the Police and the new Leader to somehow get rid of DR. Douglas and the Labour Party? This is how it sounded, coming from our over ambitious leader. Dr. Douglas never did anything close to that!

A real square peg in a round hole, eh? Some people were certainly not endowed with the invaluable assets to lead; nobody who had to back stab his way to the top post in the field of Politics could ever emerge as a good leader, for Leaders were born. They were destined to be Leaders; they know it, they feel it, so they bide their time, because they know that it will eventually come to them. A good Leader does not show ingratitude to those who helped him on the journey through life, nurturing him during his most difficult and trying days as a youth. A good Leader always offer up prayers of Thankfulness for such persons instead of expressing ingratitude which is worst than witchcraft.

No Politician can be a good leader of a small country unless he or she is fortified by God Blesses from the senior citizens of the land. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is a Brimstone Hill Fortress when it comes to blessings; our new leader, on the other hand is a barren desert where nothing at all grows. But, then again, this only happens when you force ripe yourself into leadership. If anyone could betray those who assisted them immensely when things were really, really rough and tough with them, whom else they would not betray, eh? How do they expect to succeed?

They become like King Midas, turning everything they touch into unpalatable morsels of non-development and improvement for the land and its people! Here was a man who was chairman of the Labour Party and a Senior Minister of Government who was allowed to travel abroad to gain his Doctorate degree. The leader of his Party, whose constituency is impregnably strong, forsook his constituents in order to look after his constituency in his absence and, upon returning, with his PhD degree, such a person could possess the brazen face and the mindset of a Judas to turn into an ingrate to such a man and the party he leads? Whenever a Civil Servant journeys abroad on study leave, he/she receives four fifths of their salary. This Judas received his full salary and still had the hardened heart to turn around and stab such a kind, thoughtful, helpful, generous man in his back with the dagger of I want it now?

Man only possesses the inclination to look at the outside appearance of his brother, but only the Good Lord is capable of detecting the thunderous treachery that was rolling in this comrade’s heart. Dear reader, I crave your indulgence in exposing the modus operandi of our present day leader. If he was genuinely dissatisfied with the way in which he was treated in the Labour Party, there are a number of ways he could have rectified the situation. (1) He could have taken the matter to his constituency and demand that they hold a special meeting with the leader in order to remedy the situation. (2) He could have stood up like a man in the Executive meeting and put the case of his treatment on record. (3 He could have taken his grievances to a specially convened General Meeting of the organization. (4) If he was dissatisfied with the outcome, he could have resigned.

None of these things was done. Just imagine this dear reader; while the ex-comrade was the Chairman of the organization, he was on the airwaves bashing the same organization that he was the chair of! Didn’t granny say, “Class is class?”
