BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Sunday 26th August 2018)-Emergency crews were called this morning to respond to a fire at a clothing store located on Central Street in Basseterre.

Sun Island Clothing/Indo Carib Shop, located in the vicinity of BCA outlet and SK Fashion Plus, was engulfed in flames after the fire broke out sometime after 8:00 A.M.

A video seen by this media shows firefighters breaking the doors of the closed up building in orders to quench the flames.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that no one was injured. However, as gathered, there has been extensive damage to the store.

That particular store is widely known for selling school uniforms, t-shirts and polo shirts which are manufactured at the parent company plant located at the Industrial Site along the Bay Road area.

It is also one of the more popular Caribbean Lottery retailer on the island and carries common household appliances  as well as undergarments and other items.

More details to be provided in a follow- up report.
