Tourism Ministry Official: Bigger, Better Second Wave Of Music Festival Line-up Coming

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Monday 6th March 2023)- “…I can promise you that the second wave will be bigger and better.” – LOCAL NEWS -So said Permanent Secretary remarks at the ‘Big Reveal’ in the Ministry of Tourism artistes unveiling event held on Tivanna Wharton during her Sunday 5th March 2023, at Eco Park which saw the first wave of this year’s line-up featuring ten (10) acts being announced.

Slated to perform at this year’s three-night concertscheduled to take place on Thursday 22nd June to Saturday 24th June are a mix of national, regional and international entertainers combined namely: Skillibeng, Skinny Fabulous, Chronixx, Valiant, Koffee, Byron Messia, Govana, Patrice Roberts, Air Supply and Grand Masters Band. As gathered the upcoming second wave launch is expected to take place at Port Zante.

Up to press time on Thursday 9th March, no date was given. Notably, Byron Messia from St. Kitts known for hit songs like ‘Toxic’, ‘WHO?’ and ‘Smallest Circle’ performed at the 2022 edition while Grand Master’s Band is the reigning Sugar Mas (St.

Kitts-Nevis National 3Carnival) road march champions for the winning tune ‘Outside Again’. Wharton, while giving comments following the first wave unveiling, expressed that “…I’ve been receiving the messages that this is the best one yet, and I guarantee you even bigger and better artistes to come…” She added: “Today we jumpstarted our island’s distinct musical extravaganza as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the St.

Kitts Music Festival. It is apparent that our people’s love and admiration for the sound of music is unwavering. This reveal of the first wave of artistes has set the tone for what promises to be an experience like no other.

As we build the momentum for the upcoming St. Kitts Music Festival, we encourage the general public and the wider demographic to stay tuned as more excitement would be delivered shortly.” “Music continues to be a universal language that builds deep connections and brings unification.

We are extremely excited for the 25th edition of the glorious St. Kitts Music Festival to be held from June 22nd to 24th. However, I’ll drop another bombshell for you tonight. There is an extended calendar with plenty major events that will precede the actual festival nights,” the Tourism Ministry official also stated.

According to her, “So from June 17th to June25th, we will be having a host of events that I’m sure all of you would love, and so this would be on the greatest music festivals we’ve ever put on because it is one that has never been done before. This would be one of great excitement filled with undeniable flare and loaded with vibes.
