BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Tuesday 7th March 2023) – Information reaching this media house indicates that in the aftermath of a recent traffic accident at the South East Peninsula, locals rushed to assist the visitor who suffered a serious foot injury.
An eyewitness recalled how a tip about ice being good for the numbing of the wound saw a local taxi operator rushing to a beach bar to fetch some ice in attempting to provide help to the situation. “…they said ice was good for it [the injury],” the individual stated. As understood, the woman who did not speak English was seen screaming in pain following the accident.
A police statement issued on Monday 6th March 2023, indicated that Police are investigating a traffic accident that took place at the Southeast Peninsula in which persons were injured. Reportedly, the accident occurred sometime after 2 p.m. on March 05, 2023 and involved motor car PA1499 which is owned by Adrian Tuckett of St.
Peters and was being driven by Makevon Williams of Wades Garden and Motorcycle R106 owned by Sunny Blue Scooter Rental and was being driven by Marko Zitek of Slovenia accompanied by pillion rider Stasa Mista. Police say investigations so far have revealed that while taking a curve in the road on his way to Reggae Beach, Williams lost control of the car and collidedwith the motorcycle which was traveling in the opposite direction.
Both the cyclist and his pillion rider fell and sustained injuries. The lower portion of Mista’s right leg was severed at the scene. Both were transported to the JNF General Hospital via the Emergency Medical Service, where they were treated for their injuries.
Police further reported that Mista was warded at the Intensive Care Unit in a stable condition, while Zitek was discharged after having only sustained minor lacerations and bruises. Reportedly, Williams is in Police custody assisting with the ongoing investigations into the matter.
That day following the accident, via social media, a video was circulated showing the woman’s injured while at the scene.
