Workers Were Inside Popular Bakery During Robbery

BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Tuesday, 5th December, 2017)– Two masked individuals managed to get away with money following the recent robbery of the popular American Bakery on Thursday 30th  November at about 7:30 PM while employees were present.

According to the police, preliminary investigations have revealed that the bakery located on Victoria Road was already closed and several employees were inside.

This media house understands that the bakery closes at 7:00 PM.

Reportedly, two masked persons entered through a back door and took a sum of money from the cash register, then made their exit through the point of entry.

The scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit. Investigations are ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Basseterre Police Station at 465-2241 or their nearest police station.

United States Supports Cultural Preservation at Historic Bath Hotel in Nevis

On January 17, the U.S. Embassy joined representatives of the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, including Nevis Premier, the Honorable Mark Brantley, along with members of the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society at the Bath Hotel in Nevis to mark the successful completion of the second phase of restoration and stabilization work at the historic site. The project was supported through the U.S. Government’s Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation, with total funding of just over US$400,000 provided across two phases.
