Tawanna Collins is the new National Carnival Queen

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (January 2018) – Miss SCASPA, Tawanna Collins, is the new National Carnival Queen following the National Carnival Queen Pageant that was held Sugar Mill on Friday, 28th December.

Collins scored 1420.5 points, trouncing her closest rival by some 81 points.

The young and talented beauty received top awards in the National Pride segment, Performing Talent segment and Evening Wear segment.

She also won the Miss Photogenic (not judged) segment.

First Runner-up went to the 2016 White Sands Queen, Olivia Walters.

The St. Kitts-Nevis Development Bank sponsored beauty won the Best Swimsuit Segment and also captured the Chairperson Award (not judged). She earned 1339 points.

Taking the Second Runner-up spot was Ms. Aravinda Hughes who was sponsored by the Cable, with 1317.5 points and the award for Best Interview Segment.

The other contestants were Desi Brown (sponsored by St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank) who copped the prize for Best Question and Answer Segment and Social Media Award; Merv-Ann Thompson (sponsored by Carib Brewery St. Kitts Limited) and Anissa Eddy (sponsored by Coca Cola), who adjudged Miss Amity.

All contestants received bonus points for early arrival.
