BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Monday 20th May 2019)-One man was left wounded in the aftermath of a stabbing incident within the vicinity of the Independence Square over the past weekend which police have classified as a wounding with intent case.
Injured is Chad V. Seaton of Harbor View, Bird Rock.
On the afternoon of Friday 17th May afternoon, officers responded to a report of a wounding, and investigations so far have revealed that Seaton was stabbed from behind in his upper left chest area with a sharp objectby an assailant.
He was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
This media house understands the incident happened along West Independence Square Street section sometime after 2PM.
Upon arrival to the scene, this media house observed that traffic going south of that street was diverted on to Central Street as the authorities temporarily blocked access.
Eyewitness photos shared with this media house show the shirtless stabbing victim with medical dressing about his chest while being assisted by workers from the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the western area of the Square.
