WOMAN CHARGED FOR POSSESSION OF FIREARM, AMMUNITION

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 27, 2021 (RSCNPF): The Police have charged 29-year-old Sylaine Phipps of Boyds Village for the offences of Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. During a security check at the entrance of a night spot in Basseterre on October 22, 2021, a Beretta PX4 Storm Pistol and several rounds of 9mm ammunition were found in Phipps’s bag. She was subsequently taken into Police custody along with another individual. She was charged on October 26, 2021, and has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

AUTOPSIES PERFORMED ON THE BODIES OF SHAHEEM FARRELL AND XAVIA HOWELL

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 29, 2021 (RSCNPF): Autopsies have been performed on the bodies of 21-year-old Shaheem Farrell of Church Ground and 23-year-old Xavia Howell of Braziers Estate. The autopsies were conducted by Resident Pathologist, Dr. Adrian Nunez, on October 28, 2021. Dr. Nunez concluded that Farrell’s death was caused by hypovolemic shock as result of a single gunshot wound to the neck and that Howell’s death was caused by severe head injury as result of a single gunshot wound to the head. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

50% OFF ALL ANIMAL FEED AT DEPT OF AGRICULTURE TO ASSIST FARMERS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 4, 2021: Effective Thursday November 4, 2021, all animal feed at the Department of Agriculture will be available to farmers at half price. This was confirmed by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Ron Dublin Collins, who made the announcement on Thursday morning. He said the 50% discount has been introduced to help farmers currently experiencing challenges from the recent shortage of animal feed that is crippling sectors across the region. The 50% reduced rate on animal feed is set to run until December 31st 2021.
