Court To Stanley Knight: Do Not Commit Any Other Offences

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 03, 2021 (RSCNPF): Jailed public figure 57-year-old Stanley Knight of Dorset Village, found guilty of indecent assault, was warned by the court not to commit any other offences at his recent sentencing.

Information coming from the police public relations department indicates that on October 29, 2021, Knight was given a suspended sentence of two years imprisonment. “He must not commit any offences during the next two years starting from October 29, 2021, or the two (2) years of imprisonment will be served, with one-third given off for good behavior. He is also to pay compensation of $10,000 through the court in three (3) months. Failure to pay in the time given would result in him serving six (6) months in prison. No time will be given off the six (6) months,” part of the police statement read.

On Monday 27th September 2021, Knight, an immediate past Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Culture, was found guilty of the offence of Indecent Assault by a majority verdict of 10-2 for the offence which was committed on October 31, 2018.

MAN CHARGED FOR INDECENT ASSAULT

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 02, 2021 (RSCNPF): The Police have charged a man from District ‘A’ for two counts of Indecent Assault. He was charged on October 27, 2021. The offences were committed in May 2019. He received bail on October 29, 2021, in the sum of $30,000 with two sureties. As part of his bail conditions, he was ordered to surrender all travel documents, to not contact the virtual complainant/witnesses, to report to the nearest Police Station weekly, and to give notice of seventy-two (72) hours before leaving his residence.

CHARGES LAID FOR ITEMS SMUGGLED INTO PRISON

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 02, 2021 (RSCNPF): The Police have charged 27-year-old Cheslyn Hutton of Cotton Ground for the offences of Conveying Contraband into the Prison and Conveying Tobacco into the Prison. He received those charges on October 27, 2021. Hutton was also charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. Those charges were laid on October 29, 2021. All of the offences were committed on October 25, 2021. He has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.
