After years of dormancy, the Sandy Point Fisherman’s Marketing and Supplies Co-operative Society Ltd. has been reactivated following a training programme delivered by the Department of Co-operatives from 13 January to 17 February 2021. The co-operative held a successful inaugural Shellfish Festival on Sunday 1st March at Fig Tree, Sandy Point, as the climax of the training and reactivation process. Patrons came from far and wide to enjoy lobster, conch, snapper and shellfish. Environment and Co-operatives Minister Hon. Eric Evelyn attended and committed his ministry’s support. Patrons called for the festival to be held at regular intervals.
