BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Friday 23rd February 2024)-Parents and guardians are being encouraged to enroll their children in the National Intervention Team Police Youth Club (NITPYC) which focuses on essential skills such as conflict resolution, drug and crime prevention as well as character building.
The Police Public Relations Department revealed on Monday 19th February 2024, that the National Intervention Team Police Youth Club (NITPYC) is thrilled to announce the commencement of its transformational program the week before, targeting children ages 5 to 16. “We encourage all parents to enroll their children in this empowering program.
We believe that investing in the youth today is an investment in a brighter, more prosperous future for all. We are enthusiastic about the opportunity to empower your children and make a positive impact in the lives of our future leaders,” part of the statement read.
As reported: Our carefully designed curriculum focuses on a variety of essential skills that contribute to well-rounded leadership development. The program includes engaging sessions on the following key topics such as #CommunityEngagement, #teamwork, #leadershipskills, #discipline, #responsibility, #conflictresolution, – LOCAL NEWS –
#respect for authority, #DrugandCrimePrevention education, selfdefense techniques, civic responsibility, emergency preparedness, physical fitness, character building, education support, and career guidance. The inclusion of a Drum Corps every Saturday at 4:30 pm at our Police Training School was also announced.
“This musical component adds a dynamic and rhythmic dimension to our program and helps to strengthen teamwork skills and discipline. In related news on the topic of community policing, Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Dr. Terrance Drew while speaking at his recently held press conference with cabinet ministers, indicated that community policing will be made a fundamental part of policing here in the Federation.
“We have the full complement of the high command for the first time in about eight years, at least seven years. We now have a commissioner, a deputy commissioner, the three ACPs [Assistant Commissioner of Police], but we have added a fourth ACP.
And we are now going to make community policing a fundamental part of policing here in St. Kitts and Nevis.” He added: “You have seen the officers out, you have seen other people reporting on it.
