The Medical University of the Americas (MUA) donated 100,000 disposable face masks, valued at approximately US$50,000, to the Ministry of Health on Nevis during a handing over ceremony on September 08, 2020. Premier Mark Brantley said: “The new normal of COVID-19 requires us to wear masks. Were it not for this donation we would have to buy masks, and the taxpayers’ dollars would have to be diverted to paying for them. By this donation, the MUA has ensured that we can put our resources to other things.” Some of the masks will go to educational institutions for students and staff.
