BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Friday 24th September 2021) — Kaeve ‘MiMi’ Armstrong, the 2013/2014 crowned National Carnival Queen, applauded the early public unveiling of Sugar Mas 50 carnival contestants, saying it is something she always felt was missing from the carnival experience. Armstrong hosted the back-to-back Royal Reveal events at ZIZ TV studio — broadcast live on Facebook on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th September 2021 respectively — for the National Carnival Queen Pageant and the National Swimsuit Competition. Carnival Chairperson Shannon Hawley explained the rationale: “It’s September and we’re giving you an opportunity to follow the contestants. Sponsors as well would be able to use the young ladies for marketing purposes, so it’s an opportunity for sponsors to take advantage of this three-month period in which we are revealing these contestants.”
The 2021 National Carnival Queen Pageant contestants are: Contestant #1 Sasha Herbert, #2 Saskia Evans, #3 Harshap Parmanand, #4 Nekirah Nicholls and #5 Kahnein Blanchette. The swimsuit contestants are: #1 Ro-Danna Wilkin, #2 Valencia Kelly, #3 Mikhalia Stephens, #4 Shantara Hewlett and #5 Ngozi Nicholls. The theme for Sugar Mas 50 is “Fun, Vibe, Energy!” Creative production was curated and produced by Desi Brown and Diego Spanner, with cinematography by Nigel Tru Capo Lewis, and outfits designed and made by Elle Couture by Lesrie.
