BASSETERRE (Friday 9th October 2020) — A beach clean-up at Timothy Beach instead of the usual cocktail reception marked the 109th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in St. Kitts-Nevis on Saturday 3rd October. The event was organized by the Taiwan Embassy in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Sustainable Destination Council and the Department of Environment. Resident Taiwan Ambassador Tom Lee said the change was prompted by COVID-19 and expressed appreciation to the government and people of St. Kitts-Nevis for their “strong support” of Taiwan at the United Nations General Debate.
