Former Australia batsman Dean Jones has died at the age of 59 after suffering a heart attack in Mumbai, where he was working as a commentator during the Indian Premier League. Jones played 52 Tests from 1984 to 1992, averaging 46.55, and was part of the Australia team that won the 1987 World Cup. In his 164 ODIs, he averaged 44.61. He is perhaps best remembered for his innings of 210 in the tied match between Australia and India in 1986. Cricket Australia chairman Earl Eddings said: “Dean Jones was a hero to a generation of cricketers and will forever be remembered as a legend of this great game.”
