BASSETERRE (Friday 5th March 2021) — Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hazel Laws announced that St. Kitts-Nevis has received an additional 20,000 doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, and persons can now go to any health centre to get vaccinated regardless of their priority group. “Just go to the nearest health centre to get your vaccine and get your first dose, and you will be given an appointment within 10 weeks for the second dose,” she said. As of 3rd March, a total of 2,085 persons — 6.3% of the target population — had been vaccinated in just nine days. The vaccine provides an 83% risk reduction in contracting symptomatic COVID-19. There are 11 vaccination sites in St. Kitts and 6 in Nevis.
