Cayon High Wins National Carnival Talented Teen; Teenage, Junior Calypso Winners Crowned

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Friday 28th December 2018)-Cayon High School’s Avanya Richards on Wednesday of this week December 26th won the coveted title of Miss National Carnival Talented Teen.

The DASANI sponsored beauty won Best Ambassadorial Costume and Best Formal Teenage Wear Segments.

During the Ambassadorial Costume segment she sported a costume made completely of plastic.

She amassed a total of 602 points.

Closely behind in the first runner-up spot was T’Shaunte Smith of Washington Archibald High School. Smith ended the night with 601.5 points.

She won the Best Ambassadorial Speech and Best Performing Talent segments. She was sponsored by G SQUARED ARTS.

Daneika Dickenson of the Basseterre High School was adjudged second runner-Up.

The Allies Construction Ltd sponsored teenager also scored top points in the Interview segment.

She scored a total of 579 points.

Charles E Mills Secondary School’s representative, Kadeisjah Egen, who was sponsored by New Generation came in third runner-up with 568 points.

The other contestant was Siddoyah Warner of the Verchilds High School, sponsored by KFC.

Also taking place is the same stage was the Teenage Junior Calypso Competition.

Invincible (Terron Webb) won the title of Junior Calypso King with a total of 422 points. He performed a tune called ‘Change De Thinking’.

First runner-up runner up went to King Akedo (Akedo Nisbet) with his tune ‘Shoulda Blow’. He scored a total of 376 points.

Simply Mighty (Tyrique Jeffers) came in Second-runner-up with 360 points. He rendered ‘Children Getting Children’.

Third runner-up spot was occupied by Mighty J (Marques Washington) with 347 points. He performed ‘Monkey vs Man’.

In the Primary Junior Calypso Show, Sweet T (Tianna Warner ) emerged the winner with– 390 points for “Train Up Your Child”

First Runner-up position went to Princess Nevaeh (Shante Hendrickson) with 368 points). Her song was “A Sister’s Plight while Singing Divi (Devonique Liburd) sang– Law And Order scoring 334 points placing second runner-up and Erastus (Rajuan Fyfield) placed third runner-up for ‘Downlaod It’ with 326 points.
