BASSETERRE (Friday 12th February 2021) — COVID-19 Task Force official Dr. Cameron Wilkinson revealed that criminal charges are not likely to be brought in connection with the recent quarantine breach in which a COVID-19 patient left a facility and travelled on a vehicle. “It was a breach and sometimes can come because of misjudgment and not necessarily any direct criminal intent,” he said. He clarified that the person did not travel on a passenger bus with other passengers. Everyone who came into possible contact was identified and quarantined. The COVID-19 Task Force activated its response mechanism immediately upon discovering the lapse.
