Media Workers Get Airport Tour To See COVID-19 Changes

BASSETERRE (Friday 6th November 2020) — Members of local media were taken on a tour of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport on Wednesday 4th November 2020 to witness arrival and departure processes linked to COVID-19 health and safety retrofitting. New features include a Welcome Centre on the tarmac, a medical screening unit converted from the VIP Lounge with four health surveillance officer stations, an isolation centre, and a revamped customs baggage area. Arriving passengers face temperature screening, PCR test validation, quarantine protocols, and COVID-certified taxi dispatch. The airport was officially reopened on Saturday 31st October. 49 charter flights had already landed since the borders reopened.
