BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Thursday 21st March 2024) -Following the official release of the first batch of St. Kitts Music Festival acts, members of the public have been voicing mixed feedback, sparking more scrutiny than excitement.
On the night of Friday 15th March 2024, via a 1 minute and 28 seconds video on its Facebook Page, organizers released what is being dubbed the primary lineup featuring 16 acts, most of whom are local entertainers. The announced acts are: Small Axe Band, Itebulous, Rick Ross, Eazi, Speedy, TBone, KT Dan, AkaiiUSweet, Mical Teja, Hi Light, Green House Band featuring Mishka, Alkaline, Jaydo$, Third World, Tommy Lee Sparta and Mr.
Mention. That unveiling post has received over 350 reactions while the comment section has been flooded with more than 200 responses. That release video has also received over 160 shares. According to one individual “Well this is a local festival.
I don’t mind giving our people a turn but what about bringing people to our shores. St. Kitts Music Festival is a tourism product to not only fill beds ut expose people to our little Federation. Me ain’t see an act yet to excite visitors.” “ I just happy to see plenty locals on the line up, Big up Jados is about time,” said another social media user.
According to another individual: “Phase 1 not to bad but I’m looking forward to phase 2 and 3 just put Rihanna or Nicki Minaj in second phase.” A top commenter whose initial feedback got over 100 laugh reactions from
other users, stated: “I come back one more time. On a side, and much more serious note the 1st wave needed to be far more enticing because Music Festival is above all else a major tourism product. The first wave should encourage people to book flights and hotels expeditiously, I absolutely do NOT see this wave doing that.
Further, there is no mention of when the other “waves” are coming and with our luck this looking like we nah hear bout the next wave til 1st June.”
