BASSETERRE (Friday 30th October 2020) — Well-known Cultural Preservationist Winston ‘Zack’ Nisbett of Zack’s Historical-Cultural Library and Museum says the changes to this year’s Carnival and Christmas season due to COVID-19 present an opportunity to bring back deeper appreciation and focus on the cultural aspects of St. Kitts-Nevis. He said the Department of Culture will be focusing on traditional sports including masquerades, Bull presentations, and the Red Cross Regiment. His Zack’s International String Band — featuring many children musicians — will be doing home serenading in the villages during the Christmas season “as in old times.” Nisbett said: “If the effect this year is good then they should go through with it in the years ahead, because I prefer the real cultural, folkloric than the u2018wukkin up’”
