BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Friday 3rd September 2021) — Saddlers resident 21-year-old Keniqua David, a young mother of an infant, died more than eight hours after being injured in a vehicle crash in Bird Rock on Friday 27th August 2021. She succumbed to injuries after having to be extricated from the vehicle by the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services. She was well-known for her track and field abilities, having been a star runner at the Basseterre High School, and is survived by her baby girl believed to be under a year old.
Police investigations revealed that close to 1:00 a.m., motor jeep P6667, owned and driven by Kellian Hazel of St. Paul’s, exited the parking lot of a club in Bird Rock and collided with a 40ft container chassis. Hazel was treated and discharged for injuries to his hand, while David — who was in the front passenger seat — succumbed to her injuries close to midnight on August 27th. An autopsy was scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
