On the topic of protecting the common interests of workers’, everyone should have some sort of view on it. Whether you are a worker or an employer, this is the type of subject that you have to pay attention to in general.

Perhaps a change in culture might be the best request to make at this time in making an appeal that everyone become invested/more invested in being educated about the rights of workers. Here in St. Kitts-Nevis, we have the pedigree of the 1935 Buckley’s Uprising which poised our nation and people in demonstrating the value and importance of safeguarding and championing the interests of workers.

We should be inspired by such a historic event that is supposed to live on in generations and those unborn. There are various pieces of legislation which gives formality in protecting workers. At this time the National Tripartite has its work cut out for in putting together a Labour Code document for St.

Kitts-Nevis.

Dear workers and employment, how many of you are familiar with the laws? The St. Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union is always ready to educate our workers about their rights. To this end, it is hoped that many of you would attend or view/listen to the Union’s upcoming 84th annual conference slated to take on Sunday 29th October 2023 under the very theme ‘Protecting the Common Interests Workers’.

Join the Union! Let us all be strong together!
