BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Thursday 11th January 2024) – Well-known local DJ Kellian ‘Sparry’ Hazel is calling on members of the public for financial donation assistance towards raising a court ordered lump sum compensation of EC$180,000 for the 3year-old child of fatal traffic accident victim 21-year-old Keniqua ‘KK’ David who died in August 2021.
Via social media Facebook sharing on Wednesday 10th January 2023, such details were highlighted pointing out that the information “The court charged $180,000 which would be used as compensation to the victim’s young daughter. Sadly enough, I do not have the above mentioned amount.
I am hereby seeking the assistance of family, friends and well wishers to assist me in meeting this cost,” part of his write-up via fundrazr.com states. Kitts and Nevis One evening while traveling home from work I was kindly asked to transport a person to their home. While doing such, the car I was driving malfunctioned and collided with a trailer which was parked in the road.
Unfortunately, the passenger who was sitting on the left side of my vehicle due to the impact of the crash died. It’s not easy to get over such a tragic situation where one person dies before your eyes and there’s nothing you could have done to prevent it.” In a police statement issued on 8th December 2023, it was revealed that Hazel had been sentenced for Causing Death by Careless Driving in an incident that resulted in the death of the late Keniqua David of Saddler’s, St.
Kitts. Police also indicated that having been indicted on the charge, Hazel plead guilty and was sentenced on December 6th by His Lordship Justice Iain Morley. Reportedly, he received a six (6) month prison sentence that was suspended for two (2) years providing he commits no legal infractions during that time.
Additionally, he has also been disqualified from driving for a period of two (2) years effective from December 6th 2023.
