BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Wednesday 2nd February 2022) — One year later, police on St. Kitts have made a second arrest in relation to a January 2021 double murder. A police report issued on Monday 31st January 2022 indicated that 25-year-old Jelani Duncan of Cabbage Tree, Cayon has been charged for the murder of Lamonte Heyliger of Shear Lane, McKnight, and Jahquan Merritt of Fort Thomas Road, McKnight. He received his charge on January 29th along with being charged for the offence of Possession of Ammunition, and is currently in Police custody.
The murder offences occurred on January 11, 2021, at Lower Thibou Avenue, McKnight. Duncan is the second person to be charged in this matter, after 35-year-old Tabari Roberts of Lower Thibou Avenue, McKnight was first charged on January 15, 2021.
