BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Thursday 2nd March 2023)- Prime Minister and Minister with responsibility for Health Dr. Terrance Drew has informed that a customer training assessment is being carried out at the Joseph N. France General Hospital and also that a new hospital will be constructed.
He made the disclosure on Wednesday 2nd March 2023, during his second monthly special interview with media representatives, broadcasted live via various media platforms including his facebook and radio streaming. The Health Minister, who is a trained medical doctor, highlighted that Mrs.
Adelcia Bradley-King, an expert in customer training, is now carrying out a scientific study at the JNF General Hospital to see what are the issues “because we know that there have been a lot of complaints about customer service at the JNF. We are doing an assessment right now.
A scientific assessment to see the extent of that. Once we have determined the extent of that, we are going to put a plan in place to deal with customer service.  As explained by him, “What is happening at the JNF is the wait time.
Sometimes you may have gone to the JNF and the wait time for any health professional is sometimes an hour [or] two hours.” He went on to say: “We have based the retired nurses to come and to be the triage nurses. Triage requires a high level of expertise because it is the triage nurse who determines whether you need urgent care, you can wait or whether they can send you to see your doctor the next day; they are the gatekeepers and so having the retired nurses there with the relevant expertise and experience helps in that so I think that most people who go the hospital now would see a nurse in very quick time.” Dr “What has been delayed a bit is the time that the doctor sees you, Editor’s note: As we continue on our Lenten journey in this second week we attempt to find some meaning in, and understanding of, the power contained in The Word of God.
