NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (January 26, 2022) — The Department of Public Health on Nevis has launched a “Let’s Get Vaxxed Raffle” and companion “Let’s Get Vaxxed Referral Drive” with major prizes at stake, aimed at encouraging younger persons to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Ms. Shavenee Nisbett, Senior Health Educator in the Ministry of Health, explained the raffle targets persons between the ages of 12 and 21, with prizes including the latest iPhone 13, the Samsung S21, Galaxy pods, Apple AirPods, a smart watch, a laptop, and an Apple Xbox or PlayStation Amazon gift card. Young persons between ages 12 and 17 must have parental permission to participate.
The “Let’s Get Vaxxed Referral Drive” is open to all age groups 12 and above. Its prizes include a washing machine, a 60-inch smart gaming compatible television, AirPods, and either the iPhone 13 or Samsung S21. Both the referrer and the newly vaccinated person are eligible to enter, as long as the vaccinated person takes their second dose before the end of February 2022. The drawing for both raffles takes place at the end of February. Once vaccinated, nurses at the health centre will remind eligible participants about entering.
