BASSETERRE (Friday 12th February 2021) — SKNLP candidate Leon Natta-Nelson says opponents stooped to a low targeting him in connection with his firearm licence renewal in an effort to disrupt his candidacy against PM Harris in Constituency Seven. The Director of Public Prosecutions on Tuesday 9th February withdrew the October 2018 matter “on the basis that other people were not given the same treatment,” after cross-examination revealed that numerous other licensed firearm holders — including a now-minister of government and the Prime Minister’s brother — had also failed to renew on time without being prosecuted. “Going up against somebody who has been there for 30 years, it is surprising that they would have stooped to that low of a level,” Natta-Nelson said.
