BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Thursday 30th May 2024) – The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season is forecasted to be highly active, with more storms than average, according to Senior Meteorological Officer of the St. Kitts Met Office Elmo Burke, who is also the National Director of Meteorology for St.
Kitts and Nevis. Appearing on a weekly episode of ‘Policing With You,’ (put on by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force) – hosted by Inspector Shorna Francis Edwards – Burke provided a detailed outlook for the upcoming season, sharing that of the predicted 23 storms, 11 may develop into hurricanes.
