Basseterre, St. Kitts. March 2, 2024. – In a momentous event held at the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee Conference Center, Her Excellency Governor General Dame Marcella Liburd took the helm in spearheading the celebrations commemorating International Women’s Day.
The distinguished gathering, which unfolded on March 2, was marked by a resounding commitment to the theme “Inspire Inclusion,” advocating for the vital principles of equity and inclusivity for women across all sectors, extending beyond the realm of sport.
Key stakeholders, inclusive of the Minister of Sport et al., Hon. Samal Duggins echoed the clarion call for progress and fervently rallied the gathering to champion the cause of equity in sports. Also present was Minister with responsibility for Social Development and Gender Affairs, Senator Isalean Phillip, who emphasized the broader societal dimensions of equality and inclusion for women.
