BASSETERRE (Friday 23rd October 2020) — An 81-year-old pedestrian who was seen alert and responsive while receiving medical attention in the aftermath of a traffic accident has passed away after being hospitalised. Dead is Conrade Simon of Wellington Road, known as ‘Jeb,’ originally from Cayon. An autopsy concluded that death was due to traumatic shock from multiple traumatic injuries. The fatal accident occurred on Thursday 15th October on Pond Road, when 29-year-old Rae Clarke of Mattingley Heights, heading east on Cayon Street, collided with Simon after he stepped from the sidewalk into the road. Clarke was arrested and charged with Causing Death by Dangerous Driving. Investigations are ongoing.
