BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Wednesday 15th September 2021) — A 35-year-old driver has been charged for the offence of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving following the death of 21-year-old Keniqua ‘KK’ David of Saddlers Village. Police reported that on Tuesday 14th September 2021, Kellian Hazel of St. Paul’s was arrested and charged for the offence arising from the Bird Rock crash on Friday 27th August 2021, which killed David — a front seat passenger — when the vehicle crashed into a 40ft container chassis close to 1:00 a.m. Hazel was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 with two sureties. His bail condition requires him to report to the Dieppe Bay Police Station every Thursday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. An autopsy by Resident Pathologist Dr. Adrian Nunez concluded death was due to “severe craniofacial trauma as a result of a motor vehicular accident.” David was the mother of a baby girl. Her funeral was held on Friday 10th September.
