BASSETERRE (Friday 5th March 2021) — SKNLP Constituency Eight candidate Dr. Terrance Drew says he is seeking that whoever hears evidence in the private criminal bribery complaint against government minister Eugene Hamilton is a person with no perceived bias. Drew revealed that the presiding magistrate, Fitzroy Eddy, recused himself after Drew’s counsel demonstrated Eddy had previously stood in for a case involving Hamilton. Drew said an agreement had been reached between the DPP’s office and his lawyers regarding disclosure, and was surprised by the DPP’s subsequent press conference. “I will not speak of my evidence. My evidence will stand the test of time,” he said. The matter was put to 1st March 2021 before a new magistrate.
