BASSETERRE (Friday 23rd October 2020) — Chief-of-Staff at the JNF General Hospital and COVID-19 Task Force member Dr. Cameron Wilkinson says increases in COVID-19 positive cases are expected after the borders reopen on 31st October, but emphasised the importance of continued vigilance. “As countries continue to open their borders we are seeing increases in positive cases — Barbados has 14 new cases, Antigua 8, St. Lucia 7 — and we should expect no different when we open our borders,” he said. To date, St. Kitts-Nevis has tested over 2,906 persons with a positivity rate of only 0.7%. The 155 Ross University students who arrived from Miami and Puerto Rico have all tested negative after 14 days of mandatory quarantine and are now being released.
