Dear reader, in 1984 Timothy Sylvester Harris — who was not yet Dr. Harris at that time — and Earle Clarke were unceremoniously dismissed from Social Security by Dr. Kennedy Alphonse Simmonds, Prime Minister, and the Hon. Michael Oliver Powell, Minister of Agriculture, Labour and Social Security, because both Timothy and myself, as Labour supporters, participated in the General Elections. After being dismissed, PAM tried to block Harris from obtaining a job in St. Kitts when he applied to the business community. The CEO of S.L. Horsford & Co Ltd saw him as an intelligent young man, defied PAM’s request and gave young Timothy a job. It seems as if Dr. Timothy Harris did not forget that humiliation and, in order to get back at PAM, betrayed the Labour Movement which nurtured him from his youth, to carry out his diabolical plan of destroying PAM and its leadership.
At the 2012 Labour Conference at the Marriott Hotel, when the Party was celebrating its 80th year of existence, Dr. Harris mounted the podium with tears streaming down his face and said: “I have only one Party and that is the Labour Party. I have only one Leader and that is Dr. Denzil Douglas!” But that same Sunday night, a comrade called me to listen to WINN-FM — there was the same Dr. Harris who had sworn loyalty to the Labour Party and its Leadership earlier in the afternoon, saying the most horrific things about the Party and its Leaders. Who can ever trust this man? His brutal Judas Iscariot treacherous tactics of betraying the Labour Party was to convey to PAM, which was in the political wilderness for nigh 20 years, that he was acceptable to them. Look at how he corrupted Mark Brantley and Shawn Richards, Leaders of PAM and CCM, so that they have become un-electable to their sensible-thinking constituents.
Those of us who knew the man realised, when the shoes and the watch scandal hit the airwaves and Dr. Harris blurted out the infamous words “I HEAR THAT SOME OF THEM HAVE TAKEN THEIR SUITS TO THE DRY CLEANERS TO BE SWORN IN AS PRIME MINISTER, BUT THERE WILL BE NO SWEARING IN CEREMONY, BECAUSE NONE OF THEM CAN RAISE A CANDLE OF CORRECTION UP TO ME” — that message said quite frankly that none of his Cabinet Members were sinless; that they were ALL INVOLVED in some form of underhand deals. Why did the Christian Council, the Evangelical Association, the Bar Association, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, never pick their teeth at the height of this scandal? To be continued next week.
