The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) signed a US$50 million loan agreement to support COVID-19 response projects in OECS Member States — Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The loan will finance three components: a health response component (case detection, monitoring, and supply of medical equipment); a social component (cash transfers for vulnerable populations); and an economic component (financing for Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises). CDB Vice-President Diana Wilson Patrick said: “The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the specialised role that multilateral development banks play in coordinating development assistance and planning systematic recovery.”
