BASSETERRE (Friday 8th January 2021) — Fresh concerns have been raised by residents of the West Farm and Boyd’s communities about speeding bus operators following a bus crash in the vicinity of the ghaut area on Wednesday 6th January 2021. The public transport vehicle, carrying passengers to Basseterre, crashed into a telecommunications utility structure. Cellphone footage showed an extensively damaged bus and injured passengers. “The Traffic Department really needs to do something about these accidents that always happen in West Farm and Boyd’s. Please don’t let anyone else lose their life,” one resident said. The two-lane road near the ghaut is considered particularly dangerous by long-time residents.
