BASSETERRE (Friday 11th December 2020) — Superintendent Cromwell Henry revealed that two crew members of a visiting cargo ship left the vessel on Monday 7th December and visited a nearby supermarket, resulting in them being tested for COVID-19 and a local worker being placed in quarantine. Cargo vessels operate under the condition that crew remains onboard with no physical contact with persons on the dock. The two crew members were detained and taken to the JNF General Hospital for testing. “This is a reason why you have to follow the protocols. These are the types of incidents that could occur that could possibly put our people at risk,” Superintendent Henry said. The Federation has recorded 26 cases with three currently active.
