Anya Seetahal Crowned National Talented Teen

BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (January 2018)-Miss Washington Archibald High School (WAHS), Anya Seetahal,  was adjudged the 2017/2018 National Talented Teen winner on Tuesday 26th December at the Sugar Mill at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium.

From a field of seven confident beauties Seetahal outdid her fellow competitors to win four of the five judged segments.

The newly crowned queen copped Best Talent, Best Formal Teenage Wear,  Best Interview and Best Ambassadorial Speech.

She also received top awards for Miss Photogenic, Miss Amity and Most Popular Contestant Online.

Seethal amassed a whopping 963 points. Over 100 points more than her closet rival.

Miss Vechilds High School Shavonie Gumbs placed First Runner Up after totalling 821. 5 points.

Gumbs also snatched the Best Ambassadorial Wear Segment and the Chairperson’s Award.

The Second Runner Up position went to the Charles E Mills Secondary School which was ably represented by Johnette Williams. She ended the night with 810.5 points.

Maria Rock of the Immaculate Conception Catholic School (ICCS) came in third with 758.5 points.

The other contestants were Karessa Michael of the Cayon High School; Juniqua Maynard of the Saddlers Secondary School and Alecia Nisbett of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.

On the junior (Teenage) Calypso side of things, from a field of four competitors, Mighty Sookie of Charlestown Secondary School in Nevis (CSS) won with 342 points and Simply Mighty of ICCS placed first runner up with 308 points.

The other competitors were Empress Tres of the WAHS  and the then reigning junior king T’quan ‘Mighty T’ Mc Dowell.

A. Paul Southwell, Sir Joseph France, and Sir Simeon Daniel. Recognition and special presentation to the only living National Hero, the Right Excellent and the Right Honourable Dr. Sir Kennedy Simmonds will also take place.
