The Labour Spokesman Editorial
Several elected members of parliament who were also members of cabinet notified the appropriate authority that they no longer supported the prime minister, filed a motion of no confidence, and those persons — six in number — end up being ‘fired’ and having their responsibilities re-assigned, for the better part, to unelected persons! Truly, what a state of affairs! And this has been done at the instance of a creature who, in times past, complained that Comrade Douglas (as prime minister) had been ‘out of order’ to assign certain responsibilities to nominated members of parliament rather than to elected persons!
Those who took the steps to rid the country of the Blasphemer-in-Chief should be complimented for at long last having had the courage to make that attempt. Despite the unhappy outcome to date, they should not despair, and ought to continue in their efforts to lift this curse from our country. As we have warned, time and again, the fight to take back our country is going to be a very hard one. Persons like the naked emperor NEVER give up. They indulge in whatever nastiness they have to in order to hold on to the reins of political power, and keep themselves in position so that they can ‘milk’ the country for all that it is worth. The BVI matter, the CBI matter and the ‘new prison’ matter are but a few examples.
We call on ALL of our people to hearken to the call of our Comrade Leader Dr Drew, and take urgent steps to ensure that the corruptions being practised at the electoral office are not allowed to influence the outcome of the general elections which are now due. Let us also follow the example of Comrade Dr Geoffrey Hanley and the good people of Basseterre East. Let us all proclaim, as with one voice, and for the whole world to hear: “WE ARE NOT FOR SALE!”
