BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Thursday 12th May 2022) — Leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Dr. Terrance Drew says he will be making daily visits to the Electoral Office located on Central Street in Basseterre due to concerns that the party has. Via a live broadcast outside that office on Thursday 12th May 2022, he expressed: “So far we know a lot of things that should not be happening are happening in and around the Electoral Office. I am here to say to the people that this should not be so. I’m asking all fair-minded people, our patriotic citizens, people who want to see democracy preserved in St. Kitts and Nevis, to make sure that you do your part to ensure that there’s integrity in the Electoral Office.”
Dr. Drew continued: “Already we are hearing, and I have evidence, that people are registering where they don’t live. I will be here daily and I’m asking all fair-minded people to come to the Electoral Office and to make sure that the shenanigans that potentially can happen here — some of which are happening outside of here — that it shouldn’t continue. The Electoral Office is fundamental to the integrity of our democratic processes and our democratic ideals.”
In an address to the nation the day before (11th May), Dr. Drew encouraged voters to choose the SKNLP: “The liberation of our nation is fast approaching but can only be hastened with your votes for a new day and a better way. The St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party stands with every person and every family which have suffered needlessly these past seven years. Today I speak on behalf of all those who have suffered for even long years under a self-serving government which has done more to enrich themselves and little to alleviate the problems faced by the great people of our nation.”
