The Labour Spokesman Editorial
Monday was Labour Day. By all accounts it was also Labour’s Day! The turnout for the march and, indeed, for ALL of the activities held over the weekend was a clear and powerful message that shook ‘the naked emperor’ to his core. Undoubtedly, he must by now know that the people are no longer buying whatever it is that he is selling. The people are sending him the message that he is truly ‘naked,’ and most of our people now know him for just who and what he really is.
Meanwhile, for all practical purposes, there is no government. It fell when the cabinet ceased to give their support to the prime minister. What we now have is a dictatorship. But that is exactly what the naked emperor loves most, and all the world are coming to realise that the very ills and evil of which he accused others are fully attributable to him. As he writhes in his anger, he lashes out at those who, having become aware of his true nature, have displayed the courage to distance themselves from him. Suddenly, he has gone on an all-out effort to blacken their names, trying to link them to the disgraced premier of The BVI, and anyone else he can think of. Perhaps someone should remind him that everyone knows that he still has matters to answer to in England, Germany, Dubai, and elsewhere.
To the comrades, supporters, and friends of Labour we say: “Keep the goal in mind. Remain focused. Efforts are going to be made to distract you. Ignore them. Help those who are making their way back home, and stretch forth the hands of friendship to those who now wish to join with us in taking back our country.” Remain strong, and help those who are turning to us for help.
