BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Wednesday 22nd April 2020) – Nearly one month since the Federation of St. Kitts-Nevis recorded its first two cases of COVID-19, two out of 15 patients have beaten the illness.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hazel Laws confirmed the first recovery at the NEOC Daily Briefing on Tuesday 21st April, while cautioning that positive case numbers would continue to rise before declining. “Please note that our numbers will continue to increase with the numbers of continued cases reaching a peak. Subsequently, these numbers will then decrease, but based on the evidence, this decrease will take place at a much slower rate,” she said.

Updated figures showed 260 samples tested, 15 positive cases, 233 confirmed negative, 12 results pending, 106 persons quarantined at home, and 633 persons released from quarantine.
