BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Monday 23rd May 2022) — The People’s Action Movement (PAM), a fired fraction of the Team Unity government, has launched two new candidates for Constituencies Three and Eight in the persons of lawyer Chesley Hamilton and media personality Kervin ‘Milo Box’ Freeman, to contest the upcoming General Elections. Hamilton was officially unveiled at a press conference held on Wednesday 18th May 2022 at the Swing Restaurant & Bar in Cayon, and Freeman during a similar session held on Thursday 19th May at the OJJ’s Conference Complex in Camps.
Chesley Hamilton replaces Eugene Hamilton, who has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Harris-led administration. SKNLP Leader and Constituency Eight candidate Dr. Terrance Drew will contest the elections in that constituency. In Constituency Three, there had been no PAM candidate in the past seven years of the Team Unity Government; Konris Maynard of the SKNLP remains the SKNLP candidate. Freeman acknowledged that he had publicly endorsed the current Constituency Three PAM representative Akilah Byron-Nisbett under the Team Unity banner: “I know I would be asked what are you doing up there because it was just less than two years ago you came and told us to vote for somebody. My simple answer is, when you want something done good, you have to do it yourself and that’s why I’m here. I do not play with my people; let my people go!”
Hamilton stated: “It is not where you stand at a time of comfort and convenience but the ultimate measure of a man is where you stand in time of challenge and controversy. I am here today to stand with you not because it is comfortable, not because it is convenient — it comes at great sacrifice — but to whom much is given much is expected, and much has been given to me.” To date no PAM candidates have been revealed for Constituencies Six and Seven.
