BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Thursday 28th May 2026) — Constituencies Five and Seven — both held by longstanding parliamentarians and former Team Unity administration leaders — have emerged as early focal points of community outreach by the newly aligned One Federal Alliance (OFA) and New Direction Party (NDP), ahead of the next General Election. Via a social media live-streamed ‘Conversation and Connection’ town hall meeting held on Wednesday 27th May 2026 in Sandy Point, OFA Leader Hans Richards said: “For over two decades, the same representation has had the opportunity but tonight we begin a conversation about what is possible when the people come first again.”
The OFA formally established itself as a new political entity on 21st May and announced on 27th May that it is “joining forces with the New Direction Party to build a stronger, fairer, and more united Saint Kitts and Nevis.” Henry Marsham has been appointed Deputy Leader of OFA, while Ms. Kurtiesse Caines serves as Assistant General Secretary. The NDP has also announced plans for outreach in Constituency Seven, where Caines is expected to host a town hall meeting on Monday 1st June at the Outreach Covenant Church in Phillips Estate. Constituency Five is currently held by Dr. Shawn Richards (PAM) and Constituency Seven by Dr. Timothy Harris (PLP). OFA Chairman Kevin Taylor outlined a development vision centred on national transformation: “We can envision a nation powered by 100% renewable energy for the modern and stronger communities. We build together — not by chance, but by vision, discipline, courage and determination.” Both parties are using the colour purple. The NDP symbol is a key; the OFA is represented by a car.
