The Labour Spokesman Editorial

On Wednesday night, the people of St. Kitts and Nevis were treated to yet another of Prime Minister Harris’ egregious abuses of his office. During the course of what he quite obviously wanted to be seen, heard and accepted as a statesman-like address, he once again fell flat, and at the same time managed to insult the people of this country.

For some time now we have been awaiting the official declaration as to the dissolution of parliament. What loomed before the nation was the possibility that parliament could have been automatically dissolved — a “most historic, first ever” manner for this country, signaling the long perceived unwillingness of the incumbent regime to face the judgement of the electorate. It is clear that, in order to avert that ignominy, Dr. Harris and his lot indulged in some attempted last minute gimmickry.

These general elections are going to be the most important and significant in the political and economic history of our nation. We simply CANNOT afford to allow SCHEME UNITY to get away with anymore of their shenanigans. We shall be fighting to restore to office the government which the people know to be best suited and equipped to serve our needs and lead us into the future.

Let us continue welcoming our people back into the fold. Yes, dear people of St. Kitts and Nevis, let us all work together to rid the country of UNITIM and SCHEME UNITY. We ALL owe it to ourselves, our children, and the generations as yet unborn. Let us all join together, and take firm hold of the loving, caring, responsible, competent HAND OF LABOUR.
